First Friday & vintage/thrifted treasures

Last night was First Friday, a monthly event in Phoenix where the city closes off traffic for a few blocks and hosts a huge art walk. There are cute boutiques in renovated historic homes, food stands, protesters, restaurants, bars, bakeries, galleries, live music everywhere!, capoeira, fire dancers, drum circles and handmade goodies GALORE. It's become a super fun, exciting draw in downtown Phoenix, and it boasts the most unique indie businesses and galleries.

We're only a few light rail stops away from Roosevelt, the main street it's held on, so it's a really awesome perk of living downtown. We went last night to check out the goodies and had A BLAST. My friend Chelsea had tweeted that her boyfriend Scott would be there selling some of his handmade lamps/hanging lanterns, so I was super excited to go check them out! And I wasn't disappointed - Scott is really talented! We walked away with this one:

I haven't hung it up yet because we're still deciding where it will look best, but I had to snap a pic of it all lit up to show you. I'll be sure to take a pic when it's all hung up! It's SO unique, and so so pretty!

Since Chelsea is in Colorado for the summer, I promised I'd text her a pic of me and the arteest:

Thanks again Scott!!! We love it so so much!!

He had posted up at Butter Toast Boutique, a sweet little vintage shop, and I met the owner Ashley who was sooo sweet and adorable. I couldn't help myself - I had to treat yours truly to this gorgeous, mint condition tunic:

I changed and wore it out last night on a lil date with my honey <3

Today, I was uber excited to wake up early and check out the storewide 50% off sale at Goodwill. I'm unabashedly in love with thrift store shopping. Here are my winnings:

Clockwise: Neiman Marcus cardigan, H&M silver high-waisted skirt, BCBG sunglasses tee, gauzy white pocket tee, brand-new-tags-on! flannel blouse, some pretty cards, a stack of girly novels to read this summer (don't judge), and a stovetop spoon holder. That stovetop spoon holder is the BEST invention ever...I've been wanting one for months and I'm frankly not sure how I made it that long without one. That whole shebang only cost $27!

Now, I'm going to sign off and hang out with Ryan and my brother, who are currently enraptured with something on the Xbox:

That's my BABY brother. He just DROVE to my house, by HIMSELF, in his OWN BRAND NEW (97 Toyota Corolla) CAR, because he loves hanging out with Ryan and Sam. Sorry to be shouty, I'm just being a proud sister. So, so cute.
