Hey guys! Here are a few things I'm pretty much obsessed with these days.
Making jewelry.
I'm no Moorea Seal, but every now and then I get a bug up my butt and have to flee to the nearest bead store to make whatever piece I'm envisioning. (This is hands-down my favorite bead store in AZ!) I made the above necklace, modeled after one of my favorite necklaces that was handmade and given to me years ago by a girlfriend, and also another necklace. I also made a few pairs of earrings. You'll see these around the blog soon, I'm sure :)
Wedges.
I think wedges are the best shoes ever, hands down. They're easier to walk in than stilettos and still give you some great height. I got these simple, chunky black ones on Amazon recently (free shipping!) and I'm in looove. They're Madden Girl Kaliie wedges. After reading reviews, I was nervous that they'd fit weirdly or fall apart, but so far they're extremely comfy, true to fit and have remained intact! Excellent deal, too :)
Everything pumpkin flavored or scented.
Sort of like my coconut obsession throughout the summer, I'm now obsessed with everything pumpkin. I got this candle at Target a few weeks ago for absurdly cheap and it smells amazing. Ryan doesn't love it so I have to burn it on the down low. I guess I'm a total pawn of Starbucks' seasonal flavors but I just can't help it! Pumpkin SCREAMS fall to me and it's finally below 110* here so I guess that makes it "fall" in Arizona.
Blue Moon.
The change of seasons has also inspired a definite craving for Blue Moon in this household. I think it's the coriander spice flavor that reminds me of the holidays. I can't wait to get a 6 pack of the Harvest Pumpkin Ale too. Yum!
Intervention.

Oh my gosh, I'm a woman possessed. There are three things in our Tivo that will cause me to slap someone if they are deleted: the Ellen show, Project Runway and Intervention. I'm really fascinated by substance abuse and addiction, which is something I fortunately (or unfortunately?) get to see in my day to day work, but I love how the show gets into the nitty gritty details of it as well as the systemic effect it has on families and friends. Clinically, I think it does a really good job focusing on the things that contribute to an addict's reasons for using rather than just "oh look at this crazy f'ed up meth addict, what a loser!"
What can I say? I guess a therapist can never truly leave the work at the office.
Anyway, those are the things consuming my free time these days. What are you guys into lately?

Ohmygodpumpkin! I can't get enough. I even found a recipe for Pumpkin Nutella Muffins. Yes, please! I hope you're enjoying fall!
ReplyDeleteI've been obsessed with Intervention too! Mostly because it's on Netflix now, haha.
ReplyDeleteMmm! I love anything pumpkin, cookie, pie, pretty much anything that smells like my gma's kitchen! I have that same candle, but in Vanilla cupcake! YUM.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking that I needed more pumpkin scents in my life!
ReplyDeleteAhhh Pumpkin everything yes! And blue moon. The Harvest Ale is my favorite right now. :]
ReplyDeleteYou're the cutest.
Oo I love me some intervention of course!!!! I think it's really well done and offers such an intense look at addiction. Also live blue moon and pumpkin!!
