What I wore: clashing florals, Ugglebo clogs

Wanna know what I wore every single day on my honeymoon in Jamaica? A bikini, some sort of coverup and a pair of silver Old Navy flip flops. Easy and carefree, but not exactly thrilling fashion. You can imagine how excited I was to come back home to my little apartment and my little collection of chic clothes!

What's worse? Right before we left, I got a little package in the mail from a little company called Ugglebo...

...who manufactures amazing handmade Swedish clogs. In Sweden! While the clogs stay true to tradition with a solid wooden base, the styles are modern and super functional. With three collections, it's nearly impossible to pick just one favorite style...the Urban collection is my favorite, but there are some great clogs in Ugglebo Boots (the Chukkas, swoon!!!) and Ugglebo Classics as well.

Frolicking around Jamaica in my rubber flip flops made it that much sweeter when I came home and was reunited with these beautiful handmade sweeties. I love the celery green Nubuc leather - I feel like it's a really versatile neutral - and the medium wooden base is beautiful. With a little height and some sassy brass nail heads, I have a feeling these will make a seamless transition between work and play.

The care and craftsmanship involved in making each clog is obvious in the quality and beauty of each pair. I like putting art on my walls, why shouldn't I wear it on my feet? The mini flyer that accompanied the clogs said that it might take some time to get used to wearing them due to the wooden base, but I thought the design was comfortable and I had no trouble getting used to strolling around in them.

Yesterday, I had to tackle an appointment I've been dreading for the past month: getting a new driver's license with my married name at the MVD. To pump myself up for the hideously unpleasant affair, I snazzed up my Ugglebo clogs with my favorite Levis skinny jeans and a floral top/scarf. Dressing up for something miserable at least makes it slightly less unbearable, no?

It partially worked - while the FIRST driver's license picture she took was fierce, the woman misprinted my apartment number and I had to do it all over again. In the second picture they took, my hair is all ruffled on one side and it sort of looks like I was attacked by birds.

You win some, you lose some.

(Many thanks to my daddy, who dealt with my constant "artistic direction" while taking these photos and simultaneously criticizing my clashing top and scarf. He got a lesson on why mixing prints and patterns is very "now". It's a good thing daddies put up with such nonsense!)

Outfit details: sunnies, Michael Kors via Nordstrom Rack - scarf, NY&Co - top, Forever 21 - jacket, Target - skinny jeans, Levis - watch, Fossil - Swedish clogs, gift from Ugglebo Clogs

Happy Christmas Eve!!
